Welcome To La Jolla
A seaside Village whose beauty inspires locals and visitors from around the globe with its stylish coastal lifestyle.
From the crashing waves to the award winning restaurants, inspiring galleries and boutique shopping, La Jolla delivers on its reputation for serving up a coastal casual, luxury lifestyle.
But look closer and you’ll find a diverse community of locals drawn together by their love of the water, the intellectual cluster of professionals who thrive here and the respect the residences have for history that is the fabric of the community.
Only minutes from downtown San Diego, La Jolla serves up a breath-taking 7 miles of curving coastline with 14 beaches. The community of La Jolla is a compilation of 14 distinct neighborhoods, each offering unique architecture and lifestyles.
What to Expect
Understated luxury, intellectual and globally savvy residents, and no shortage of beaches to surf, swim or stroll.
La Jollans as the locals call themselves are drawn as much to the community for its quality of life, as they are for the life it allows them to lead.
Unlike congested beach communities in Orange County and LA, La Jollans cherish and take pride in their quiet, upscale community where locals are the regulars at coffee shops and wine bars.
Where shop keepers know the locals by name and where a sense of small town coastal vibe integrates with multinational corporations.
Many of La Jolla’s flagship restaurants and historic hotels are located in the Village of La Jolla. In the Village, you’ll find the La Jolla experience complete with lavish dining experiences serving up sweeping ocean views and walks along the picturesque ocean cliffs of the Cove.
However, on a typical day you will find most La Jollans favor sunrise workouts or surfing at their favorite beach, and dining at one of the smaller, locally owned establishments.
La Jolla is also home to some of the world’s most advanced bio-tech research companies, medical and higher education institutions, and a hub for entrepreneurs.
What Not To Expect
A party town. La Jolla is a residential community, so nightclubs and the late night scene goers won’t be found. La Jolla also has only a couple main access roads, which makes it sometimes tricky to get in and out of.
La Jolla property is some of the most exclusive in the country.
With gated, sprawling estates in La Jolla Farms, the Country Club and Muirlands neighborhoods, to architecturally stunning residences located the ocean front and ocean near neighborhoods, or ocean view homes sited on large lots in the various Mt. Soledad neighborhoods to turn key condos in the Village of La Jolla, there is a home that fits every style.
